    National Electrical Code questions and answers
    In a manufactured home,that meet the code requirements of allowing the meter base to be mounted on the home ,and has a complete skirt around it , with a access door, can type se or ser cable be run from the panel inside the home through the crawl space to the meter base?The code states under Manufactured and mobile homes that under chasic wiring that is exposed to weather must be in conduit or mi cable.

    I've never seen a trailer where the meter was allowed to mounted to it. That is pretty clear in the definition of a mobile home.
    For a manufactured home it can be on the home but several guidelines must be met.

    What code did you see that required conduit or MI cable?

    You are misinterpreting NEC 550.15(H) by using the "Exceptions" that are allowed. The sentence, "The conductors shall be suitable for wet locations." is the governing "Norm". Numbers 1 and 2 are conditions that are exceptions to the "Norm"
