    Pregnant and Cleaning Vagina
Help. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and had light pink spotting yesterday. When I was showering I decided to insert my finger into my vagina to check the cervix and got pinkish creamy cervical mucus (too much info I know). Did I harm my baby by doing this? I don't want the baby to get any bacteria infection or hurt his/her's development. I know it was stupid to do, but I was used to checking my cervix when when trying to conceive that I didn't think about it when I'm pregnant. I have cramps on my sides today and feel a little burn in my vagina. Anything I can do to help make sure my baby is okay?

I doubt you caused any harm. In a healthy pregnancy you can have intercourse.

If you are worried, ask your Physician.

I don't understand the title of your post - "cleaning" your cervix/vagina?

Yes, not a good thing to do. Soap in your vagina probably upset your own hygienic Ph balance. That is the burn you feel. Even when not pregnant not a good thing to introduce fingers inside. If you are then wear a non latex glove. If you are worried get a check up. Better be safe then sorry and always better to consult your own doctor.
