Serving a Summons and payment arrangements in place
I received a civil summons on an American Express account from a collection agency in which payments are being made through Freedom financial which negotiates with credit card companies to lessen the total amount. The total amt was not reduced and monthly payments are being made. Do I go to court? Freedom financial has been attempting to reach the attorneys without success. Please respond.

Any time you get a summons you need to go to Court. The creditor does not have to deal with a third party and probably would prefer to have a judgment which is good for 20 years than attempt to collect little bit by little bit.

American Express is no under obligation to deal with anyone except you and your Attorney.

Yes, unless payment arrangement is in writing (ask for copy of written payment agreement) then there is no real agreement.

Yes, you have to go to hearing and take proof of payment agreement
