    Child abandonment laws in Oregon
My daughter left her 21 month old son with me it was only suppose to be for 2 weeks but it has been almost 11 weeks now. I have spoken with her and can not get a straight answer about when she is coming back. She is out of state along with his father. They have not kept their word on paying support or on return dates. I can't get any help from the state because I don't have custody or guardianship. How long must I have him in my care before I can pursue custody,

You can pursue temporary guardianship now. You can use abandonment as grounds for guardianship.

The child needs to be with someone who can legally provide care for him.

Agree, go ahead now. And file for temporary custody

What type of help do you expect from state ?
