    Clemency
Hello my felony was back in jan 1992, I had to submit an application for a waiver to the il dept of public health to even get accepted into the rt program (approved). I am going to apply for clemency from the governor of il and hopefully this will help once I graduate. What do you think??

I think the steps are reversed - clemency and then training/education.

If you can't get clemency then what happens?

And clemency does not guarantee a license - the conviction will still exit.

    Hello f:

It's not clemency you need. You need a pardon. In order to get one, you need a good reason. That your conviction is holding you back isn't a good enough reason..

Once I receive my cert as a radiology technician, I want to have a career at a hospital, that's the reason for the clemency or pardon. To get hired and have a career

    Hello f:

Like I said, wanting to get ahead might not be a good enough reason... Note that I said MIGHT. I don't know.. When you're ready to apply, I'd do it WITH an attorney.

It depends on the State - have you contacted the Licensing Board and inquired?

You cannot in most places become an RN with certain arrests. X-ray techs are in the same category.

There are more people than jobs - depending on the background check even with a pardon you might not get hired.

I'd talk to the licensing board.

You needed to get the pardon before, not wait till last minute. The governor seldom gives them and many are asked for. You need to have an attorney help you with the process.
