Can a private Christian school garnish my wages if I had a levy released? I didn't sign anything and I wasn't informed until the money was taken out. I get paid twice a month and the pastor took the money out himself. Can I get the money back?

I really don't think they are allowed to without going through the court UNLESS they have some sort of electrónic withdraw set up with you.

First any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Second, without knowing what the garnishment was for its hard to answer. But the only way they would be allowed to is if you have an employment contract that allows it.

    Hello m:

It doesn't matter WHO it is. If you've been sued and lost, they can garnish your wages. If you haven't been sued, they can't touch your money...

If they DID take your money, sue 'em.

PS> Please tell me more about this "levy". It MIGHT cause me to change my mind.
