    Collapsed in uncontrollable tears
    Hi,

I wasn't sure who to ask about this and still not sure whether to talk about it, but here goes.

I had been out with my girlfriend in town, we had a really good day and thus eneded up staying out - one of those off the cuff decisions.

Anyway, walking home I just kept stopping and hugging her, we would walk a bit then I'd stop again. My legs began to feel weaker and weaker and eventually we got to a place in the park and I collapsed on the floor. I just burst into tears hysterically and couldn't stop, nor could I get up.

My girlfriend called my brother who came to get me, who then called an ambulance to take me to hospital. I don't know how long this went on for but I could not stop crying or walk anywhere, it was completely uncontrollable.

The hospital asked me if I'd taken any drugs which I hadn't and had no explanantion as to why this happened. I do work in a stressful job and like anyone else I have my worries and troubles.

Now I just feel confused, embarrassed, weak and can not explain what happened or why it happened. I would appreciate some guidance and advice with what might have occurred.

    Many thanks

    Craig

Did they give you a catscan at the hospital? They must have had some explanation as to why you collapsed. Could have been a stroke or a breakdown.

I would say a complete physical is in order. An evaluation as to your emotional state. Perhaps a consult with a psychiatrist. Some of your symptoms sound like a nervous breakdown and if that is what happened, you need to be under a doctor's care. Everyone has stress, yes. But we all respond differently, at different times. It is no shame! Also a neurological consult would not be too much to ask for - concerning the weakness in the legs.

I truly wish you the best outcomes here, for your physical and emotional well being.
