    Social Benefit entitlement
Hi People. I would like any information with regards to social security entitlement. I am not currently working and not on any form of benefit at present, but have just found out I am about 4 weeks pregnant. I recently bought my home out right (no mortgage) and have practically run out of my own funds which I have been living on for almost the past year. Prior to this I was in full-time employment. What benefits am I legally entitled too? :)

You are too young to draw Social Security, if that is one of your questions. Unless you are disabled, which then you can file a disability claim and see what happens. Do you have any medical insurance? Why are you not working right now? You can check with your county Social Services about programs you can apply for, especially AFDC, food stamps, medicaid, and ask about WIC.

Unless you are over the age of 62 1.2 (I think) or permanently disabled, you are not eligible for Social Security benefits. You can double check this by just going to any SSa office or their web site.

    Where's the father?

    Hello lozza:

4 weeks?? Wow, no wonder you can't work.

Benefits?? Sure, you're entitled to lots of free taxpayer money while you sit around in your PAID FOR house suffering from 4 weeks of pregnancy!

If you are in the US, you are entitled to get your rump out of your house and go to work. Or they will foreclose on your house when you don't make the payments. And waiting till you have no money is not the time to start thinking about finding a job ( although you don't seem to be thinking about it anyway)

As noted you may get some food stamps, and a small amount of welfare, but actually owning a house may stop you from getting some welfare.
