    Lessee's holding over
I leased a condo Dec. 2008 and the lease expired Dec. 2009. The Lease Hold Over states: A new tenancy from month-to-month shall be created between Lessor and Lessee which shall be subject to all of the terms and conditions hereof except that rent shall then be due and owing at $$$$/per month and except that such tenancy shall be terminable upon thirty (30) days written notice served by either party. What does this mean for me, what am I suppose to do? I gave him verbal notice, because I wasn't aware of this clause in the lease.

What do you mean "what am I suppose to do? "

What do you want to do?

If you want to move out, give him 30 days written notice of your intent to move out. And then move out within that period.

Verbal notice is not sufficient. Most leases require written notice by local law. So the 30 days doesn't start until you give him written notice and you will then be responsible for the rental until the 30 days is up.
