How can I get my mom to listen?
Hi, I need you to me help me get my mom to start listening to me. My mom can sometimes be nice but since I'm the youngest in the family, I feel like she does not listen to me for example when I got a cut badly on arm and when I was hit by a baseball on the back of my head, my vision was blurry for like 10 minutes. So when I got home she just said "go to your room" and when I asked if I needed a doctor she said" It probably doesn't hurt that much for a doctor to see" and that it will heal by itself. On the next day my older brother was walking and he tripped on the side walk and fell on a park bench so when he got home my mother called the doctor right way for him. There are more examples of my mother doesn't listen to me but I can't right them all. Also another thing is that she whips my legs and feet with a metal rod that was used to launch my cousins toy plane with. I feel like my mom doesn't respect me the way I am. Im asking if you can help in any kind of way.

Whipping your arms and legs with a rod IS ABUSE. You need to talk to a school counselor or someone that WILL listen.

If you can show your marks from the whipping, to your teacher, he/she can report the abuse for you.

Please don't be afraid to ask someone for help and to talk to about this. It does need to be dealt with. And yes, the whipping is abuse as is neglect. If I'm understanding this correctly, it sounds as though your mom determined the extent of your pain from your being hit with a baseball. What you described would be cause for concern. I sure hope you are okay from just the 2 incidents you brought up but it clearly sounds like you should have been brought to a doctor (or nurse) to get checked out. That is what I mean by neglect which is also a form of abuse. I'm curious what some of the other examples are but what's important now is to have this dealt with. Glad you at least came here to ask but now you need to reach out even more so. Good luck there to you and be well!

U want to see a school counseller or someone for the abuse, for the not listening and the disrespect I would just sit her down and ak her to listen and try and having some bonding time with her and if that doesn't work I would see a family counseler both of you go and try and sort things out xx
