air conditioner fan running at random times
Ok, We just moved into a rental house. The house has a programmable thermostat, and we have set it to run cooler at night (free electric after 10pm) and much warmer during the day.

    The A/C works great.

My question is, even when the temp is set for say 80... And the inside temp is actually 75, the circulation fan will constantly turn off and on... The outside compressor does not come on unless it gets above 80... But I feel like I'm going to have a huge electric bill because this fan keeps coming on.

I even disconnected the thermostat all together. The fan still turns on and off, so it's doing it without knowing the temp.

Is this normal? If I need to gather more information, please let me know.

    Thanks!
    Jason

Where is the air handler located? In the attic? Attic temp causes fan "on" temp switch to close..

How do you get free electric after 10? Fan should not run with tstat off. And if the fan is running with no ac. Then it is only pulling about 5 to 8 amps not going to be a big bill
