    Pregnant after depo
I'm 18 years old I was raped at 14 years old, and was immediately put on the Depo-Provera shot and didn't get off it until last August. I've been trying to get pregnant because me and my boyfriend/fiancé both want a little one. But there's one small problem every time we have intercourse I wait about 2 weeks and take a test but nothing is happening it keeps coming back negative what should I do? I have always wanted to experience the feeling of being a mother to a baby.

It can take upwards of TWO years for your system to fully recover from the after effects of the shot, especially after so many years of use.

First, the time to take a test is about 2 weeks after missing your period. So you are just wasting your money buying tests at this point. Wait until you are late before you go and buy a test.

Second, as noted, it can take some time to clear your body. You should be discussing this with your OB/Gyn.

Third, I will mention one other point. Are you and your boyfriend financially prepared for a child? If you are 18 there is a possibility you are not. If you are so committed to having a child together, why haven't you made the commitment to marriage?
