    Irregular periods
I have been having irregular periods for almost a year now. The doctor has been prescribing me that tablet for getting periods. Once I eat those tablets I get the periods but again next month no period. So every time only after eating the tablets I get periods. What could be the problem. I have taken thyroid tests - No problem in that. I have taken abdomen scans - all OK and no problems .

What else could be the issue?

Hormones could be an issue. You need to have all your hormonal levels checked.

Thank you for your reply. I have done all harmone checks and they seem to be fine. My doctor advised maybe losing weight can help? I am 68 kgs. Height 5.4 feet... But its hard for me to believe that I have to lose weight in order to get my periods.

Low or high weight can cause menstrual problems. However, 68kgs, 149 pounds, is not unusual for someone of 5 feet 4 inches.

Are you seeing a GP or an OB/GYN?

I am seeing a Gyno. She said I need to take folic acid tablets for 3 months if I planning for pregnancy. I have a son of age 4 and half and I do want another baby
