    Wearing a mouth guard
    Hi,

I've just changed to a new dentists. I told him that my Jaw makes a cracking sound when I open & close my mouth. I'm 33 now; however; when I was 20 I had my wisdom teeth pulled & ever since then it made the cracking noise. He said my Jaw may have been broken when I had wisdom teeth out & now he wants me to wear a mouth guard. I'm wondering why he would want me to wear one now after all this time. Will this really help stop the clicking noise or when I open my mouth wide it also feels like bottom jaw is popping in & out of place; will this help with that too?

    Thanks,

    Little BB

I'd go to a well-regarded chiropractor. My sis had cracking jaws (TMJ), and a chiro fixed it fairly quickly. At least get another opinion from a dentist or chiro.
