    Yes we just brought this house in 2007 was built in 2003 went to use the ac for the first time we have a weather king heat pump ac unit and noticed the breaker would trip when the thermoset was turned downed I even changed the breaker and is not that cause the breaker works with the dryer it's a double bar 30a I don't know what it could be the house is only over 3 years old so the break down is unit will not come on when ac tryes to kick in please give some info thanks a lot

    Could be a bad compressor. Luckily for you, if you were sold a house the A/C doesn't work, it is the sellers problem. I would start with contacting the Realtor. Get brushed off, call the lawyer if you had one for closing. You might also post to the real estate law forum here.

    The less you mess with the system for now, the more difficult for the seller to weasel out of it.

    It could just be a capacitor too, they are cheap enough repairs.
