I had the essure procedure done a year and a half agoand now my period is 2 weeks late. I am concerned because I have had an ectopic pregnancy before. What should I do?

Being you are two weeks late... you can do a HPT and expect a reasonably accurate result.

First thing after you wake up... first time you pee.

After reading about the Essure procedure, I am going to suggest you contact your doctor and make an appointment. One of the cautions from the patient's booklet is that women who have the procedure are more likely to have an ectopic pregnancy if they do get pregnant.

It may be a false alarm. There are other things that can delay a period such as stress or hormonal fluctuations. But this is a case of better safe than sorry.
