A week ago today I was in my living room and fell (yes, yes - I know, I've told the kids to pick up their legos) and landed pretty hard on my left knee and somehow, the top of my right foot. I went to see my doctor, and he's scheduling me for an MRI to check for a torn meniscus. At the appointment (two days ago), I didn't have any numbness. I woke up yesterday morning, and my right foot felt like it was asleep. I shook it off, walked around, and thought it was fine. A few hours later I had to adjust a sandal strap, and as I did so, noticed that the top of my foot was completely numb. I poked around a bit, and sure enough - just the top of my foot, from my big toe back to my ankle (going an inch up my shin), and from halfway up my instep over to just over my fourth toe - completely numb. I could stick a needle in my foot, and I'm sure I wouldn't feel it. I've read about MS symptoms, diabetic issues, etc - none of them apply to me. I'm leaving in the morning for week long car trip with my husband to San Francisco. Is this something I should worry about? Will it be fine until I get back for the MRI? Do I need to have it looked at now? Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.
