    Service air bag light on 2008 silverdo
    2008.. 1500... v-6 silverdo.. 42,000 miles... service air bag light.. is on.. a friend tried to scan it with a 9,000 snap on scanner... he said it won't communicate so it didn't give a code... he said because it won't communicate the main modual may be bad... any ideals please ? Thank you... richard

    Try scanning with a GM Tech II scan tool.
    If you still have no communication, you should verify powers and grounds.
    Only once a part is tested as failed should you consider replacing it.

    Tks.. I am waiting to see if gm will waive the 120.00 fee... 42,000 miles...

    Today... gm deisided to scan my trk for free.. and waive the fee of $119.99... why do you think they desided to do that ? May there's a real proublen that they want to know about... do you think they will fix the proublen for free ? Only 43,000 miles... richard
