19 year old asking for unrecieved child support
I have had custody of my daughter since she was 3-4 years old. I never asked for child support from her mother.
Is it possible for her to ask for what should have been paid over the years?

You can ask.. but nobody has to pay you a dime until you've gone to court and been awarded support. Then it can be legally enforced.

Has that been done yet? Do you actually have legal custody (which only a court can award)... or is the child just living with you. There is a difference

She's 19? Time for support is over and as smoothy said, she can ask but nobody is required to pay.

Some states I do think you might be able to get them to pay toward college but time is ticking away. You should get to children's court and see if you can file.

What makes you think anything "should" have been paid. Since you didn't ask for it especially since you apparently didn't go to court and request that the court order support, then there was nothing that should have been paid.

I might have misread that, when I answered originally I read it as the parent was 19... if the child is 19 now... and support was never ordered by the court... its too late to ask for it now as they are an adult.
