Hi I'm 18 and I think something is wrong with me I have been on the pill for 3 years and I came off in October to try for a baby. My mate has told me that it can stop me from having a baby because I can't get pregent now can someone help me I'm scared that I cnt have a baby and me and my boyfriend have been trying for ages
Hi firstly I think you are far to young to be thinking of having a baby but that is only my opinion.
When my husband and I tried for our second I had been on the pill for a similar length of time I desperately wanted a sibling for my daughter and couldn't appear to get pregnant. This went on a year , finally I all but gave up and turned my attentions elsewhere and heh presto my son was conceived - sometimes you can want something too much and the anxiety that causes stresses out your body. Remember everything in life happens for a reason and when the time is right and only then you will fall pregnant maybe this waiting time is for you to be really sure!
It can take up to a year for a healthy couple to become pregnant. You only have a 20% chance of falling pregnant each month, so don't worry about it. Taking the pill for 3 years really isn't that long. I was on the pill for 7 years, switched to the depo shot for about a year and a half, then went to the nuva ring because my husband and I knew we would want a child fairly soon. I had to stop taking the nuva ring because I had ill side effects. That was in March of '06. We started trying for a baby in Sept of '06 and just got pregnant. It took us 6 months of trying, we didn't always use condoms before then and it took us a while. I'm only 24 years old, so it can take time. Don't get discouraged if this is what you really want. Try to relax about it, make sure you are charting your basal body temperature or are using an ovulation predictor kit so you know when you are ovulating each month. When you are ovulating try having sex every other day, but don't have sex more than once a day. You want the sperm to build up. It seems like it would be simple to get pregnant with all the young teenagers getting pregnant so easily, but it takes time and patience. Don't stress about it, or you could prevent your cycle from coming, which will stress you out even more. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions
Honey, you are 18. I know you are an adult, but really there are so many things you should do before you try for a baby. You need to go a little wild, do things you will never be able to do again. Have holidays with your friends, waste hours on make up etc. Are you living with your partner, completeley independent of your parents? Do you have a full time sensible job? Can you afford a baby? If the answer to any of these things are no then I think you should work on those first. I know I am only 5 years older than you but my life is a million miles away from where I was at 18. I see so many girls who don't realise how much this will change their lives.
Your problem could be that you cycle is still not 100% settled yet. Why not visit a doctor to discuss this. If you are mature enough to have a child then you need to be able to discuss this with your doctor openly. Also, are your family aware you are trying? If you can't tell them for fear of a reaction, then you need to think about how they will feel when you do get pregnant.

Also take a daily vitamine and a zinc and folic acid one also, they help.
And this might sound gross but try and aim that your boyfriend "finishs" inside you, with you on bottom. Directly after try placeing a pillow or to under your butt and hips to elevate your pelvious for about 15 minutes in order to help the spermies swim to the egg.

Hi.I am 22 and have a 18 month old son.I didn't plan the pregnancy and it came as a shock.you are only 18 and you have lots to do before settling down with a baby.it isn't all fun and games you won't be able to do the things you want as everythings works around that baby.I don't regret having my son but it would have been nice to have had more time its very hard work and very tiring especially for someone our age.its your choice what you do but seriously make sure this is defiantly what you want as when it happens there is no going back.

Sometimes it can take up to a year for conception after being on birth control... just keep trying I don't think that there is anything wrong with youQuote:
