How do you hook up laundry tub to washer drain? Please help
I was wondering how you can tie in to the washer drain. Please give me detailed instructions or picture.

You will come of the laundry sink with a elbo and connect directly to the washer standpipe using a sanitary tee.
Do not trap the sink as a washer trap will service both fixtures. More questions? I'm as close as a click. Good luck, Tom

Is that the code I don't care. I just don't want it too overflow back into the tub when I'm running the washer
The tailpipe is pretty low almost the same level as the drain how high do I put the sani tee in
    The standpipe

I should have added to install a check valve between the elbow and the sanitary tee to prevent any backups in the tub. You will install the center of the tee of the lower the elbow from the tub. Good luck, Tom

Tom certainly presented the easiest way to hook up your sink, but plumbing code would want you to pipe it up a bit differently, for sure!

If in the future, anyone needs to know how to pipe this to code just let us know and we'll answer ASAP!

Check out the picture below. In some states you MUST include an individual vent for the sink and washer... vents can connect at about 42" above the floor (see picture).

In other areas, you may be able to install the additional sink drain/trap without adding the parallel vent... called wet venting, but it is not usually allowed using a washing machine drain (volume of water just too great).

I attached another picture showing a similar setup (just reversed)... ;)

Will you be pulling a permit on this job and getting it inspected? Back to you, Tom

    Hi Brian

I'm not going to give you a "parts list" for this as I simply don't have the time AND whatever I suggest to you will be called something different in your area anyway!

Here, you are better off taking the pictures over to your local plumbing supply house or local home improvement store and spending some time with an associate. They should be able to put a parts list together and help you get the project up and running quickly.

    Good luck!
