My machine smelt of burning electrics, it has now stopped working, but the machine is full of water and will not empty, all the lights work but nothing is functioning

Get the clothes out of it... bail the water out with cups or whatever you can before it starts to stink.. and call a repairman.

The smell you describe means something has likely burned up.. and resetting it is unlikely to work.
