Hot do I get my 2 year old toy schnauzer to enjoy a car ride? She wants to get in & look out window but when car is moving she cowers on back seat floor trembling the whole time??

What do you do when she exhibits this behavior? How do you react to her reaction?

My dog use to hate car rides. She'd sit real low and start trembling and panting..

The cure..

Ignore the behavior and throw her butt into the car every chance you get.

If you feel sorry for your dog and talk soothing and "baby talk".. that's actually re-enforcing the behavior rather than calming her.

So.. ignore her behaviors, go on long car rides ;) And eventually (couple years down the road) she'll get over it and soon learn that car rides lead to fun things.

"We" took short trips - for ice cream! It was amazing. The very sound of car keys and she was ready to go in a short period.

My schnauzer enjoyed any kind of ride. Canoe. Sailboat. Motorboat. Car. Anywhere I was she was happy
