Divide one by the other.
You have ½ cup of laundry detergent left in your bottle. It takes ¾ cup to do one full load of laundry. What portion of a load of laundry can be washed with the remaining detergent? Your solving by drawing pictures only! How can I draw a visual of this
Thanks!
The invert and multiply algorithm does make sense! Solve with pictures:
How does your picture show that we multiply by 4?
How does your picture show that we divide by 3?
Farmer Brown’s problem is an extension of this one and also shows the same steps of
Multiplying by 4 and dividing by 3.
Solve by drawing by pictures only.
Thanks!
First, draw two measuring cups of each measurement of detergent.
Nobody is going to do your homework for you and I guarantee that nobody here is going to take the time to draw this all out for you.
We will help with homework but you have to show what you did to try and answer it first.
You have 3 different measurements so you need to get them into one measurement.
I would deal with the fourths measurements, so 1/2 equals 2/4ths.
And a gallon equals 4/4ths.
Now you have 2/4ths, 4/4ths, and 4/4ths, so add all of these fractions together, then divide your numerator by 3 to get your answer. Your answer will be a whole number, so if you have a fraction then just ignore the fraction part.
