HVAC wiring for motor and condenser
I recently replaced my AC condenser fan motor and capacitor the new motor this is a 1/4 HP motor 1000-1380 RPM, 1.7-1.9 amps, 208-230 Voltage, and I also replaced the Dual run capacitor the original fan I would hear the compressor kick on but the fan would not turn several people said if the capacitor was making the compressor come on then the capacitor was fine. I replaced the capacitor and the fan and the fan turned on no problems it ran for about 3 days now its doing same thing the original motor did where it would be making a noise compressor would run but the fan would not turn. As far as my wiring I went from the 4 wires to the 3 wiring diagram I capped the brown/white the PURPLE went to the COMMON, the BROWN WIRE I connected it to FAN, the RED from unit I connected it to common, and the yellow to HERM. Then the black I connected it to the terminal. What am I doing wrong or could this be a defective motor? Or could there be another underlying problem here? Or did I wire it wrong? (it worked for 3 days)
