I wish to get some help and understand my right in this situation. Please help!

I bought a new bed a week ago for the price of $1250 +$60 for delivery. The manager store called me this morning and inform the saler gave me wrong price for what I order and written down in the receipt. He asked for another $1000.

My question is can he raise the price when I already put down $400 as deposit? And we have a receipt. Is this a contract?

I don't think he raised the price. I think it was a human error.

I think you can go to Small Claims Court but you will lose.

It's an error, not some attempt to rip you off.

Of course, if you can prove to the contrary...

I disagree. Error it may be, but it's still a unilateral error on the part of the merchant. OP has a binding contract and can enforce it.

It will depend on the terms on the written sales contract. In many cases, it allows the seller to merely refund the money. But it will all depend on written terms.

Buyer may have grounds to enforce sales contract or sue for damages.

I'd tell him 'Honor the receipt, or refund or see you in court'. See what he says and take it from there.

Hopefully OP disputes the cost (he put down $400 so far) and takes the merchant to Small Claims Court and a decision is handed down.

I find a $1,000 error on a $2,000 item to be grievous. I'm curious to see what a Court will rule.

If this had been paid in full at purchase I would say there is no recourse. Without seeing the contract I believe there is a right of review, and that's how the error was caught.

Curious to see how this plays out.
