I have a Gents 14k yellow gold ring. It has inside the shank a five point star with the letter S in the middle. There was once a sapphire in the ring. This ring is about 45 years old. So what does it mean with that star and the letter S. Thank you Diana

Hello, compare the star to that if the Jewish Star, and see if there similar. I am sure the letter is just a monogram for the original owner. If you plan on sellimg it, before doing so, fomd put the weight of the ring in grams, which will help assure you of receivng a fair price. I don't believe the Star has a specific worth or value except for the original owner. Hope this helps.
