18 year old guy and 25 year old woman
My friend somehow set me up with a 25 year old waitress. Opinions on if this is OK and should I go for it. Thanks!

    One date? Why not?

Really? Am I missing something here?

If you want to then yes, go for it. If you don't want to then no.

When you are 88 and she is 95, what will it matter? You both won't have your own teeth and might be in diapers.

Thanks for the support thus far haha I'm just curious if this could actually turn into a relationship. I wouldn't mind dating her.

You're legally an adult. There's no reason you can't date another adult. This would only be an issue if you were still a minor. You're not. You can date whoever you want, no matter the age. :)

You're still young, so date, have fun. If it turns into a relationship, great. If not, you have a lot of time to find "the one", and settle down. Date as often as possible, you're only young once.

Does she know you're 18? I only ask because when I was 25 and 18 year old would not have been an option for me. Too young.
But yes you can go out with her, you're both adults.

I was 25 a couple of yesterdays ago Oliver and an 18 year old would not have gotten my attention.

Why was it necessary to mention her occupation? Or isn't this about age?

I wondered that and the "somehow" he was hooked up with her. What's that about?

I would typically agree but I was seeing a 19 year old before the current partner.

Females at that age are not generally attracted to teens and he is still a teen.

It has been my experience - bracing myself - that males mature emotionally (and socially) more slowly than females. This would - in my lifetime - be like babysitting the neighbor's extremely horny 11 year old.

Why would she want to date him comes to mind - ?

    I'm not saying I didn't date younger. I most certainly didn't date 18 when I was 25.

Plus the OP has to ask on the Internet what other people think about dating?

No, sounds too young for the average 25 year old female.

Of course, I don't "know" either party -

    For which I am grateful.

As I said in the very beginning of this thread, "One date. Why not."

One date would clarify everything -- he's too immature, they have nothing in common after all, she should start looking for a guy her age or older, etc. OR it might be the best thing for both of them since sliced bread.

I think that when you really connect with someone, an age gap such as this sometimes doesn't matter - its not always a reflection of maturity and interests.
You are 18, there's nothing illegal about dating a 25 year old - go for it!

No one asked about the legality, but I do realize you are a teacher in a relationship with a much younger former student. I would suspect that is coloring your thinking.
