Have a 2008 honda crv the steering wheel shakes when is driven
Funky tread design (e.g. Metric) often causes this problem. Ditto for unusual tread wear. If the problem is when you brake, suspect the rotors (lateral runout).
Could be bad tires, bad balance on the tires, something loose in the front end. You should take it somewhere and have it checked out.
My 06 CRV would shake and shimmy even with balanced TOYO tires-JUNK!! > Put a set of Michelin Defenders on, $561 after rebate, and it is like a new car, so quiet and smooth.
Worn tie-rod ends can cause any vehicle to shimmy. What usually happens is, it drives fine until it reaches a particular speed 50 or 60 mph and the it does it until the vehicle slows again.
