    hi can somebody please help my young son with a question for his home work

    1 man is now three times as old as his daughter write a formula with two variables to show this

    2 in 10years time the sum of there ages will be 76 write a second formula to show this using the same two variables.

    substitute the formula from a into the formula b find the daughters age now

    The man's age is 3 times the daughter's age: m = 3d
    In 10 years time, their ages will add to 76: m+d+20 = 76

    Now hopefully your son will know how to substitute :)
