I've had my best friend since 2010. People say that he likes me but he denies every time. This year, I started to have feeling for him. I kept it a secret from him but last night one of my friends told him that there is a girl in our school that like him. He texted me asking if I knew who it was. I said no but he saw through my lie. He kept telling me names until finally, he asked me if it was me. I told him I had to go.

I really want to say that I like him but I don't want to hurt our friendship because I can't live without him.

What do I do? I am 17 years old.

If your friendship cannot stand honest expressions between you then you can never deal with the truth, and that makes the friendship itself a lie. Be honest with your friend.
