Should I be able to go?
Okay. So my bestie asked me If I wanted to go to a b-day party but it's a swimming party and I really want to go but I'm not allowed to wear a tampon and my periods pretty light. So would it be safe to go?

You can go, but you shouldn't go into the pool. Even a little blood mixed with water can be messy. Can you ask your mom to make an exception for the party?

Wearing a tampon and being in the water swimming makes for a huge mess (think heavy, waterlogged sanitary napkin) and can be very embarrassing (blood trickling down your legs when you come out of the water).

Ask your mom to please allow a tampon if you are going into the water.

I did and she said that she thought I was to young to wear tampons.

There are tampons especially made for young girls, they're thinner, smaller, and made to more easily fit a teens body.

Did your mom say why she's against tampons? What does your age have to do with wearing one?

Go to the party just don't go in the pool. I am sure your girlfriends will understand.
