The age of consent in Maryland is 16. However, are you both prepared to be parents? Her body is not ready to carry a healthy pregnancy to term.
I assume you have a good job with insurance and can support a baby?
Oh, and be prepared to get in trouble with her Daddy!
So we can or cant? What if she is 15 now? Turning 16?
You can't.
If she is 15 you can get arrested and labeled as a sex offender for the rest of your life. Oh, and Daddy might show you his shotgun.
Look, sex = pregnancy. I don't care how many forms of birth control you use. I used two. The pill AND the condom. Had one boy then 18 months later had another boy. Another member used 3 forms of birth control and got pregnant the first time.
So, do you have a job that provides a good salary and insurance if she should get pregnant and you live long enough to see the baby born when Daddy finds you.
No because you cannot afford a child.
Yes, the best thing for you to do would be to ask her father if you can screw his daughter.
While she may legally be allowed to have sex at age 16, you could be charged with parental interference if her parents don't allow you to have sex with their daughter.
She can legally give consent to have sex at 16. If the parents do not want you around here, you can still, since you are a adult be charged with several other possible things
Since the age of consent is 16, she cannot legally consent until she is 16. So sex with her is rape.
However, until she is 18, she is under the control of her parents. If her parents don't want you seeing her and you still do, there are other legal problems you can encounter.
Aside from the legal problems, there is the very real risk of her getting pregnant. Which involves health risks for her and financial obligations for you. No one should engage in sexual intercourse unless they are prepared to have a child.
Why do so many teens say they are a certain age, and then it turns out that they are 'almost' that age?
If you are planning to have sex on her birthday, beware. To put what everyone has said about the law in concrete terms, you can be charged with SOMETHING along the lines of risk of injury to a minor, or contributing to the delinquency, or whatever the terms are in MD. And teen entanglement is one area where the adult (you) is considered guilty whether you are or not. Just being in a car accident or at a party where cops are called or someone gets hurt or overdoses or anything at all, falling off a curb, if her parents want to hold you liable, they can get you in a lot of trouble.
If she gets pregnant... sigh. Try to warn teens about pregnancy. They have no concept of caring for another human for the next 18 years. They haven't even had to take care of themselves yet.
Legally you can but you do not realize the problems associated with it.
