I have a guest bathroom that really doesn't get used very often. There isn't any cold water coming out of the shower, only hot water. It's a single knob shower.. What can I do to get the cold water to work?

Most likely, you'll need to pull the cartridge assembly out and try soaking it in CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover) to dissolve the mineral deposits that are probably gunkin' up the works.

If that fails to resolve the issue you'll probably just need to replace the cartridge to fix the problem.

What name brand are we talking about here and how old is the unit... may or may not have a parts warranty?
