Should I apologize right away or give him a few days.
Seven months into the relationship, we had an argument. I over reacted and said it was over. I do not want it to end. Should I give him some time (a day or two) to get unmad or should I apologize soon? It was not really his fault and I don't want the relationship to end. I would like some male point of view.

    Thanks,

    S

You said it was over and the response you got was one that you didn't want. Remember that and learn from it. Guys want drama free relationships. That includes girls that don't over-react to everything. But you have put yourself out there already and he may not come back. If he does and you over-react again are you going to up the ante by saying "I am going to kill myself".

Stop the drama, open the lines of communication, show him a different side of you and then just maybe he will give you a go again.

Thanks for the advice. Should I give him a little time to settle (say till tonight) or apologize immediately? My understanding is guys like a little time to settle.

Well you should probably decide that since you know him better than I.

You are assuming a lot. Time to get unmad? Time to settle? Sounds like you are worried that if you apologize too soon, he will still be angry, but if you wait too long, he will be over you. He might have been over you from the first minute, and now, and forever.
What I am saying is this: it doesn't matter so much when you apologize, it's how. Don't do it with the intention of getting him back, or you just might guarantee that he won't take you back.
An apology by definition should be pure apology, with no buts, excuses, or ulterior motives.
