What would you do if you thought your mum was cheating on your dad (in my case step dad)? A few weeks ago I went on my mums phone looking for something when I came across a text between my mum and some man. I wasn't going to read it but I saw stuff saying 'love you baby' 'can't wait to see you' I feel like I need to tell someone but don't know who? Should I confront my mum about it? But the only thing is if I do, I'm scared that it will ruin everything. Or should I just keep it to myself, but at the same time its eating away at me and I can't stop thinking about it? HELP!

Sometimes it is difficult to realize that our parents make mistakes too. They aren't perfect. The cool thing about parents is that even when we make mistakes they still love us unconditionally. Remember that and apply it to this situation.

First you need to stop snooping. That can only lead to negative things.

Second this is between your mother and your step dad. It is none of your business. Your mother and your step dad created the relationship they have now and it is their's to fix or end. You don't understand the entire relationship because they do not tell you everything nor do you witness everything. Let them work this out.

If you decide you need to discuss this with your mom she is probably going to be none to please that you were snooping.

In addition to the above, 'love you baby' and 'can't wait to see you' are proof of absolutely nothing. Friends, relatives, co-workers talk that way all the time!
Snooping, you will realize as you get older, doesn't always reveal what you think.
Once you do it however you have to decide if you are going to get it out in the open or not.
I would mentally squash this one as best you can, and bring it up with your mother if you see other more open signs.
