    Pains during pregnancy
Many of you already know that I am 6 weeks pregnant. I know that along with pregnancy comes lots of new pains, but I had these really sharp, quick stabbing pains on my right side (around my ovary). I'm pretty sure it isn't ectopic pregnancy just because shortly before my period was due I had terrible pains on my left side, until I felt the cyst burst. Then the pain was more on the left, but it was more cramping in my uterus rather than an ovary. Therefor, leading me to believe that the egg was released from the left side. Since I have only had some slight to moderate cramping of the uterus. These pains come and go very quickly. They went away for a while, then came back about 2 hours later. They're gone now, but I was curious and a little worried about what they are. If anyone has had pains like this during pregnancy I would like to know what it was for you. I have an ultrasound on April 4th. I will be 7 weeks 4 days when they do the u/s. Thanks for any advice in advace! Meghan

Hello and congrats on your pregnancy! I experienced a lot of cramping and sharp pains in my sides during the beginning of my pregnancy. I had to be rushed to the hospital one time because I had such horrible pains in my side that I couldn't walk (they found nothing wrong with me). 4 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. When I went to see my doctor after I knew I was pregnant and was experiencing sharp pains, during my ultrasound they told me I had fluid around my ovaries which meant I had had cysts, but they were deteriorating, so that could have been causing my pains. I am now 38 weeks pregnant and I am scheduled for a c-section on April 2 (shes breech). I hope this helped and just relax and don't stress yourself out. It is really scary though, I know.

Thanks newmommy26! My pain was gone by this morning, so I'm sure everything is fine. I'm going to call my doctor in the morning. Good luck with your c-section! I'm sure everything will be wonderful!
