    Back child support
I'm in Arizona and I was wondering what the time frame is for getting back child support. Divorced in Columbus, Ga in 1967... or have I waited too long?

You can try, but as over 40 years have passed I wouldn't hold much hope.
The realistic question will be WHY have you waited so long...

Was there an order for support already? If there was and it was never paid upon then it is still valid. Child support has no SOL. It lasts for a lifetime. But the question was asked and needs to be answered. Why have you waited so long to collect?

Some states allow for retroactive support, but its rare. Generally support starts when its applied for. Back support only exists if an order of support was issued by a court and unpaid.

So, if there is an order, you can collect. If not, I doubt if you will get anything.
