We have been running the air conditioner and when the therm shuts off the fan/blower keeps running and I have to shut it off at the breaker. I tried it with heat also, heat turns off. The fan/blower keeps on going and going.

If the furnace has a control board, the fan relay is likely sticking. Repair usually requires replacing the board.
