    We just moved into a house had been here a couple weeks when all of the sudden certain outlets would lose power but come back on but now they won't even stay on out of 22 down stairs outlets only 6 work what's wrong here

    Look at the breaker for those outlets, make sure all wires are tight, check wires in the wall outlets. There is no 1 easy answer, you need to do some diagnostic checks. Indications are a loose wire but 16 outlets on one breaker is not wise, if that is the issue..

    Could be a 2 pole 20 amp Breaker protecting 2 multi circuits.
    Check GFCI(s)
    Maybe a Sub Panel has tripped a Breaker?

    Pull one of the outlets out and see if it was wired using the "Quick Connect" holes in the rear. Notorious for developing bad connections over time, sometimes intermittent.
