Collecting a judgment against a contractor
I have sued STS Stucco for not finishing work on my house. STS Stucco was found guilty and now I need to know how I can get my money considering numerous factors.

    1. The address attached to the business license is his mother's address. How can I put a lean on his business license?
    2. How can I garnish someone's wages who owns their own business? The wages are paid to the owner of STS Stucco by the owner of STS Stucco.
    3. I am working on garnishing his bank account. What if he closes his bank account before I get the garnishment process going?
    4. What are my options now?

    I moved this from here.

    1. As stated in the other thread, you can't put a lien on a license.

    2. Is the judgment against the individual or against the business? If your judgment is against the owner, you could garnish the wages due the owner by getting a writ of garnishment against the business.

    3. If he closes the bank account before you garnish it, your garnishment effort will have failed, obviously.

    4.
    a. Make sure your judgment is against both the individual and the business.
    b. See if the business has posted a contractor's bond.
