State select gas water heater won't stay lit
We've been in our house for 6 years now. It was brand new when we moved in. Our water heater immediately began having problems within 6 months of us moving in. It would completely shut off. The 1st time we called the plumber and he ended up replacing the ignitor. About 6 months later, the same thing happened. Plumber replaced the gas line. 6 months later, same thing. The plumber replaced the gas control valve. It worked fine until now, 5 years later. The water heater is acting up again. The ignitor will light and it looks like the burners ignite (with blue flames) but they won't stay lit. The water heater tries about 4 times and then it shuts off. We have to manually turn off the blower to have the same thing happen over and over. I really don't want to start down this road again and keep paying a plumber to come out. Any ideas? Do we have a lemon water heater? Should I just get a new one? HELP!
