I have a 7 year old Shih Tzu who has recently stopped eating out of her bowl. When she does grab a kibble or two she jumps back from the bowl like she is scared of it. She will eat the kibble if we put it on the floor -- and she eats it all quickly because she is hungry. What to do?

How are her teeth?

They are fine. She eats off the floor but not out of the bowl. We have changed bowls. And, it happens in both of our houses so it is not attached to a specific location.

My older GSD has become reluctant to eat out of a bowl - Vet says she has a problem with her canine tooth, left side. She can eat off flat plate or floor and not have food touch that tooth.

It's a question of how she picks up her food.

Does she wear a collar while eating? My little guy will not eat from his bowl if he has his collar on - he has banged his tags against it and it's startled him.
