My friend has lupus and gets mouth lesions. She says she has a spray that contains grain alcohol for her mouth. Is that normal?

Who provided the spray? Prescription?

She claims it is medicine, so I'm assuming it's a scrip. She's also a nurse. She's also an alcoholic in recovery, and people are smelling alcohol on her breath. She claims it's the medicine.

I think you probably answered your own question - putting alcohol on an open sore makes no sense. It does if you are an alcoholic.
