Getting a Power of Attorney for my brother in india to register land in my name
    Hi

I need to get a "Power of Attorney" for my brother in india to register a land in my name in india.

I'm in Floridan now. My nearest "Indian Embassy" is in Atlanta. Could I get the documents work done online or should I go to the Embassy in person to get the POA?

Getting a POA is an entirely private issue so there is no need to involve the embassy. With today's technology, skype, fax, etc. you only need to involve your lawyer in Florida with your brother's lawyer in India and signatures can be exchanged that way.

Get a standard POA form off the web, modify to authorize your brother to act for you only with respect to the registration of the property in question. Fill it out in front of a notary and have it notarized. Scan it and send a PDF to your brother. Use DHL to send the original to your brother.
