    Theft under $5000.
    Once get the appearance notice from peace officer, would it be possible to settle matter out of court by accepting guilt and paying fine or any demand by shop (out of court). Commodity amount was around 175$

    In the US it is, I can not speak for Canada ( just guessing it is canada by the name of the charge)
