    Who can I ask an electrical question to for free
    What does it mean when the electrical outlet is still live when fuses have been pulled out from fuses panel ?

    1. You have the wrong fuse identified.
    2. There is a slug or penny in the fuse slot.
    3. There are bare touching wires somewhere, anywhere, from the fuse box through the walls, and so on, to the outlet.
    Hopefully an electrician will be along soon to tell you what to do.

    I have had a fire in my rented unit and when the fire men came to put it out they had stated that the outlet was still live after the knocked the power out of the whole unit.

    It is an old home and doesn't look like there has been any upgrades since the 60 s and I really want to know if it could have been prevented
