    Well pump won't shut off and only low pressure
    A couple of months ago I had to replace my well pressure tank,pressure switch and gauge. Now my well pump won't shut off,only 30-35# pressure.. doesnt seem to be getting water in tank either(tank light).. what is wrong? when I turn the breaker off my gauge goes to zero... pease hep fast!

    Sounds like a bad footvalve, assuming this pump is above ground. Can you tell us some more about your setup? How deep is the well? Why did you change the switch and tank earlier?

    You probably haven't overcome the precharge in the tank. Water won't go into the tank until the pump goes higher than the tanks air pressure. We need to know what kind of pump you have to make any guesses about why it won't make pressure.

    Jlisembe nailed when he said you had a faulty foot/check valve. The gage falling back to zero tells you that. Good catch by "J". Tomn

    That's a separate issue. As Speedball said, the footvalve would sure seem to be bad, so take care of that first. As to the pressure issue, if we continue to assume this pump is above ground, then the pump becomes suspect. The pressure tank is not the problem and don't worry about it being "light". That is common when you install a new pressure tank.
