    Nighttime plant respiration
 Desperately need an answer to the following question:
    Does respiration occur at night?
Why or why not AND is this a factor in plant growth?
    Please help me!

    Style
I'm no expert, but I can't see how a plant or for that matter any organism could survive without 24-hour cellular respiration (am I thinking of the same thing?).

    Respiration happens day or night.

    Photosynthesis happens in light.

Respiration uses the sugars built up during photosynthesis and also O2 the same as we do, to use the enegy for maintenance and growth.

Plants are always respiring or else they would die! This does not encourage growth but stops them from dying! Hope I helped xx
