Is my boyfriend bipolar or just abusive?
I have been with my boyfriend for a year now and we've never done anything together. When we first got together he was nice to me etc. But now he's always rude always tells me to shut up, he never got me a Christmas present, nor a birthday present even though I got him both, money's not an issue with him.

When I ask him about not doing anything together he tells me to shut up and get out and not contact him until I realize that this is it for us. He takes his sisters out.

Recently I found out he's texting other girls and asking for there numbers, which got us in to a fight and be kicked me out and then called me like nothing and justified it by saying I talk to other guys, which I don't. I don't know if I want to invest my time in this anymore. My friends and family say I should leave him but when I do break up with him he tells me he loves me and begs me not to leave him.

He hurts me physically and then acts like nothing ever happened the next day. I don't know what to do anymore. It leaves me so depressed. I feel sorry for him and see that his actions are not normal. I think he's bipolar but I don't know.

Doesn't matter what his issues are, pay attention to why you allow yourself to be treated like a dog and feel sorry for the one doing it.

That's not love on his part, and especially not on your part. It's SICK to stay with such a fellow on your part. Very sick. Leave and let him find another victim.

He is controlling and abusive. You say he physically hurts you? He should be in jail. DO not settle for this kind of treatment... leave him and realize that when he is calling you and telling you that he loves and misses you, he is playing you. If he did love you, he wouldn't be treating you like this. You can do better, you know.

He hurts you physically? Leave him before he kills you.

Those are some of the symptoms of bipolar being nice one minute then mean the next minute . Leave him and change your number, and if he bothers you call the cops. He has to know he's hurting you! Find something like a hobby something you enjoy. It should lift the low self esteem issue you have. Even if he says he's gotten help ignore him you don't need that in your life. To many people not only risk there lives to low lifes, but their family are soon to be victims as well think on it.

What makes him your boyfriend? You admittedly don't do anything together, he's abusive and cruel - this doesn't sound like a bf/gf relationship, particularly if there's no dating.

Why do you mention bipolar illness? Has he received treatment, sought treatment? I don't find not buying gifts and slapping someone around to be usual bipolar behavior.

    Do you understand the illness?
